Why it is needed
Most AckerTech Optimizer settings affect the whole PC. Windows protects those areas so a normal app cannot quietly change them.
When you open the app, Windows shows its own User Account Control prompt. Approving that prompt starts AckerTech Optimizer with an administrator token. The app does not bypass the prompt or silently give itself permission.
What administrator access allows
Administrator access lets the app make the Windows changes that its optimization tools are built around.
- Read and change machine-wide Windows registry settings.
- Manage supported Windows services and scheduled tasks.
- Run Windows tools such as
netsh,powercfg, andbcdeditwhen a selected setting needs them. - Apply system-wide network, power, boot, graphics, and storage settings when those options are used.
- Save and restore supported machine-wide settings during an apply or revert action.
Some information screens only read data. The app still starts elevated because switching between standard and administrator modes mid-session makes the feature list unreliable and can leave an action half-finished.
What happens if you deny the prompt
AckerTech Optimizer does not continue in a limited mode. If Windows elevation is cancelled or denied, the app closes.
Without administrator access, Windows blocks many of the changes this app is meant to make. Registry writes can fail, services and tasks can be protected, and system commands can be refused. Pretending an optimization was applied after Windows rejected it would be misleading.
What this permission does not mean
Administrator access is powerful, so you should treat it seriously. It does not prove that any app is safe, and it does not remove Windows protections from every file or part of the system.
It also does not give AckerTech Optimizer access to your passwords, online accounts, or files on another PC just because the UAC prompt was approved. The permission is for the local Windows account and PC running the app.
Check before you allow it
- Only download AckerTech Optimizer from the official site.
- Read the publisher shown in the Windows UAC prompt before approving it.
- Check the file signature in the file properties if something looks wrong.
- Decline the prompt and report it if the filename, publisher, or download source is unexpected.
A filename and icon are easy to copy. Check the source and the publisher Windows displays.
Report a permission problem
Email admin@ackertech.net with the AckerTech Optimizer version, the Windows version, what you were trying to do, and the full error message. Do not send passwords, license keys, or private files.
