1. Introduction
AckerTech ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use AckerTech Optimizer.
2. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our services:
- Hardware Information: We collect basic hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, storage) solely for diagnostic purposes and to help troubleshoot issues.
- Device Identifiers: Unique device fingerprints are used for license verification and preventing abuse. These identifiers are cryptographically hashed (SHA-256) before being stored on our servers, meaning we never store your raw hardware IDs. Hardware fingerprints are generated from your CPU, motherboard, and primary storage device. Changing peripherals (GPU, RAM, mouse, keyboard) does NOT invalidate your license. You can transfer your license to a new PC by deactivating it on your old device (Settings > License > Deactivate This Device). Deactivation does not delete your license key — it simply frees one of your activation slots so you can activate on a different device. The deactivated device will be switched to the free plan. We allow up to 3 device activations per license. License checks occur only at app startup and require internet connection once every 30 days.
- Error Reports: When errors occur, we may collect crash logs to identify and fix bugs.
- Usage Statistics: We collect anonymous data including: which optimization features you enable/disable, how often you use Game Booster, which games you optimize (game titles only, no gameplay data), time spent in different sections of the app, and operating system version and Windows build number. This data is anonymized (not linked to your account) and aggregated for analytics. You can opt-out of usage statistics in Settings > Privacy > Share Anonymous Usage Data.
- Account Information: If you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive your public profile information (name, email, avatar).
- Screenshot Data: Screenshots you take are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers.
- Optimization Preferences: Your optimization settings and favorites are synced to provide a consistent experience across devices.
- Game Booster Settings: Game detection and boost preferences are stored locally and synced for convenience.
- Feedback & Bug Reports: When you submit feedback through Settings, we store the subject, message, your app version, premium tier, and a hashed device identifier. This helps us track and resolve issues.
- In-App Economy Data: If you earn or spend coins, we maintain a ledger of your balance, transaction history, and coin claim records. This data is tied to your hashed device identifier.
- Purchase Information: When you purchase a premium license, your order ID, plan type, and email are stored alongside your license key. Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are handled entirely by our payment processor (LemonSqueezy) and are never stored on our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information exclusively for:
- Verifying your premium license status
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Improving software stability and performance
- Developing new features based on usage patterns
- Syncing your preferences across devices
- Detecting and preventing fraud or abuse
- Processing and responding to your feedback and bug reports
- Managing your in-app coin balance and purchase history
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely and we implement appropriate technical measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction of your information. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest. Device identifiers (hardware IDs) are cryptographically hashed using SHA-256 before storage, ensuring that raw hardware information cannot be recovered even in the event of a data breach. Our infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud providers (Supabase, Cloudflare) with enterprise-grade security.
5. Data Sharing
We do not and will never sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use trusted third parties to help deliver our services: Supabase (database hosting and authentication), LemonSqueezy (payment processing — we never see your full card details), Cloudflare (CDN and security), and Discord/Google (OAuth authentication, only if you choose to sign in). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.
- With Your Consent: We may share data if you explicitly authorise it (e.g., OAuth with Discord/Google).
- For Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request.
- In Business Transfers: If AckerTech is acquired or merged, user data may transfer to the new owner. You will be notified of any such change.
- Anonymised/Aggregated Data: We may publicly share aggregated, non-identifiable statistics (e.g., “80% of users enable Game Booster”).
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: You can request a complete copy of all personal data we hold about you at any time via Settings > Privacy > Request My Data.
- Data portability: Your data export is provided as a JSON file containing your account information, license and purchase details, device records, progression data, usage statistics, coin transactions, feedback history, and preferences.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data by contacting admin@ackertech.net.
- Deletion: You can permanently delete all your cloud data at any time via Settings > Privacy > Delete My Data. This is irreversible and removes all account records, progression, coin history, feedback, and preferences from our servers. Your license key is not affected. You may also request deletion by contacting admin@ackertech.net.
- Opt-out: Opt-out of diagnostic data collection in Settings.
- Device management: Deactivate your device at any time via Settings > License > Deactivate This Device. This does not delete or revoke your license key — it simply frees one activation slot so you can activate on a different device. The deactivated device will be switched to the free plan and can be reactivated at any time if a slot is available.
- Revoke OAuth: Revoke OAuth access at any time through your Google/Discord account settings.
7. Local Data Storage
The following data is stored locally on your device and never uploaded:
- Screenshots captured with the screenshot tool
- System backup/restore points
- Deep Cleaner scan results
- Game detection cache
- Application logs
- Network performance logs (Ping/Latency history for the Lag Polygraph feature)
8. Data Sync Modes (This PC vs Cloud)
AckerTech Optimizer offers two data storage modes, giving you full control over where your data is stored:
- "This PC" Mode: All your data stays on your local device only. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. Your optimization states, preferences, coins, XP, and progress are stored in local files. If you reinstall Windows or switch devices, this data will be lost.
- "Cloud" Mode: Your data is synced to our secure cloud servers (Supabase). This allows you to access your progress, preferences, and optimization states across multiple devices. You can sign in on a new PC and continue where you left off.
- What Gets Synced to Cloud: User profile (name, avatar), optimization toggle states, favorite optimizations, coins and XP balance, quest progress, Game Booster preferences, and notification settings.
- What NEVER Gets Synced: Screenshots, system restore points, Deep Cleaner results, passwords, or any sensitive system data. Hardware specifications may be collected separately for error diagnostics (see Section 2) but are not part of your synced profile data.
- Switching Modes: You can switch between modes at any time from your profile settings. When switching from Cloud to This PC, your cloud data remains on our servers until you explicitly request deletion.
9. Children's Privacy
AckerTech Optimizer is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at admin@ackertech.net and we will delete it immediately. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, displaying an in-app notification.
11. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
- Account data: Retained until you request deletion or account closure.
- Error logs: Retained for 90 days then automatically deleted.
- Usage statistics: Anonymised after 30 days.
- License verification data: Retained for the lifetime of your licence.
- Feedback submissions: Retained indefinitely to assist with product improvement. You may request deletion at any time.
- Coin transaction history: Retained for the lifetime of your account for audit and anti-fraud purposes.
- Security alerts: Retained for 12 months for fraud prevention.
- Account deletion: When you delete your account, all associated data (including feedback, coin history, and security alerts) is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days, except where we must retain data for legal or compliance purposes.
12. Australian Privacy Compliance
AckerTech complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We collect personal information only where reasonably necessary for our functions and activities, and by fair and lawful means. We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information we collect, use, or disclose is accurate, up-to-date, and complete. You may access your personal information at any time via Settings > Privacy > Request My Data. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. For privacy complaints, contact: admin@ackertech.net.

- Right to data portability
- Right to be forgotten
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to object to processing
- Right to lodge complaints with supervisory authorities
Legal Basis for Processing: We process your personal data under the following lawful bases:
- Contract performance: License verification, account management, premium feature delivery, and payment processing.
- Legitimate interest: Fraud prevention, security monitoring, software improvement, and anonymous usage analytics.
- Consent: OAuth authentication (Google/Discord), optional usage statistics, and feedback submissions. You may withdraw consent at any time.
For GDPR-related requests, contact: admin@ackertech.net. Data transfers outside the EEA are protected by standard contractual clauses and our service providers’ security commitments.
14. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a security breach affecting your personal data, we will: notify affected users within 72 hours via email, report the breach to relevant authorities as required by law, provide details about what data was compromised, explain steps we are taking to mitigate harm, and offer guidance on protecting yourself. You can report security concerns to: admin@ackertech.net.
15. Third-Party Services and Links
AckerTech may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with external services (e.g., Discord, Google OAuth). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. When you authenticate with Discord or Google, their respective privacy policies govern how they handle your data.
